Spicy, Creamy Gnocchi with Chicken Sausage

Spicy Creamy Gnocchi

There is nothing better than a creamy, warm bowl of pasta. This spicy, creamy gnocchi with chicken sausage is a perfect, satisfying meal that will satisfy everyone at the table!

If you’re anything like me, gnocchi is one of your favorite foods and I’m always trying to find new meals and recipes that use it! This delicious spicy, creamy gnocchi with chicken sausage is my newest meal that really hits the spot. One of my favorite parts of this gnocchi recipe is using what I call “Bomba Butter” which is the Calabrian Chiles mixed with butter (if you don’t know, Kerrygold is my absolute favorite butter and I refuse to use any other type). This Bomba Butter gives the meal a rich, spicy flavor that is exactly what I wanted!

Ingredients for this Spicy, Creamy Gnocchi with Chicken Sausage

Here’s the list of what all you will need for this recipe:

  • Garlic
  • Shallots
  • Butter
  • Calabrian Chile Peppers
  • Chicken Sausage
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Oregano
  • Gnocchi

If you have never tried the Calabrian Chile Peppers before, I definitely recommend giving them a try. At first I was skeptical, but now I add them to so many of my favorite meals (I use them in mac and cheese, as a sandwich spread, and even with my egg sandwiches in the morning). Ingredients

  • 2-3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1-2 Shallots, finely diced
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tbsp Calabrian Chile Peppers
  • ¼ cup Sun-Dried Tomatoes, chopped
  • 2-3 links Chicken Sausage
  • tsp Salt
  • tsp Pepper
  • ½ tsp Oregano
  • 1 pack Gnocchi
  • 1 cup Spinach, chopped
  • 2 tbsp Cream
  • 1 cup Chicken Broth
  • Parmesan to garnish

Method

  1. I like to prep my ingredients before cooking this recipe, but feel free to do this prep as you go. So before I start cooking, I dice my shallots, mince my garlic, cut my chicken sausage into ½" pieces, chop my spinach, and cut my sun dried tomatoes.
  2. On medium heat, cook the chicken sausage until golden brown on both sides. Remove the sausage from the pan.
  3. I like to combine the Calabrian Chile with the butter to create what I call "Bomba Butter" but feel free to keep these separate and add these into the pan.
  4. On medium heat still, saute the shallots and garlic until fragrant.
  5. Once fragrant, add the sun-dried tomatoes and cook for an additional 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  6. Now, add the broth and the cream and let this cook down for about another minute.
  7. Add the gnocchi in, drop the heat to medium low, cover the pan, and let this cook for 3-5 minutes.
  8. Once fully cooked, add back in your sausage and toss in the spinach.
  9. Top with parmesan and parsley and enjoy!
