Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
Using a paddle attachment, cream together the butter and brown sugar until it is light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing on low to combine. Once all the eggs are adding, mix in the vanilla.
Stir in the baking powder, salt, and flour. Lightly mix in the chocolate chips.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Scoop 3 tbsp sized balls of cookie dough and space them far apart on the baking sheet.
Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are golden brown. Transfer to a cool rack.
Sprinkle with sea salt if desired and enjoy!
