If you know me, you know that I love frozen soup dumplings. I never get tired of them and honestly think I could eat them for nearly every meal! I usually pop them in the microwave just because it’s so easy but if you have a few extra minutes, I highly recommend trying out these pan-fried soup dumplings! Also, I know some people don’t have access to a microwave, so if that’s you, give this method a try!
I love how crispy these dumplings get and this method is perfect to get that extra texture that I feel like these frozen dumplings really need!
Extra Notes for these Pan-Fried Soup Dumplings
I love the Chili Onion Crunch at Trader Joe’s but I recently got my hands on some of the Momofuku Chili Crunch and WOW I highly recommend giving this one a try! It’s so flavorful and adds a great amount of heat which was perfect for these dumplings.
Also, a quick note for when you’re cooking these dumplings – I know in the past when I’ve posted a similar recipe for cooking frozen dumplings, people have complained about the water kind of exploding when they pour it in the pan. So please be careful when you do this and be ready to cover the pan quickly to avoid the danger!

Method
- On a medium high heat pan, add your cooking oil and then place your dumplings in the pan. You do not have to heat them up before hand, you can place them in straight from the freezer.
- Cook these until golden brown on the bottom (3-4 minutes).
- Once browned, add in ½ cup water and cover the pan. Let this steam for 5 minutes.
- After these are steamed and browned, place them in a bowl and top with your chili oil and sesame seeds! Enjoy!
