Air Fried Cheese Danish

Cheese Danishes at Starbucks are my all-time favorite, go-to Starbucks treats! When I was younger, I would get a danish and a chai latte and that would be my absolute favorite part of the day! I just love the sweet, but not overly sweet filling and the flaky pastry. This at-home version is a sweet treat that I have been loving! If you have a can of crescent rolls, sugar, cream cheese, and vanilla extract, this is a delicious way to get the day started.

How to make Starbucks cheese danish?

Making the Starbucks cheese danish at home is so easy and tastes nearly identical to the real thing! To start, I used crescent rolls for the base, but you can definitely use puff pastry if that’s what you have. I combine the crescent rolls together to get a rectangle shape. I combine the cream cheese, vanilla extract (I like the TJ’s vanilla extract that comes out around holiday time), and sugar with a stand mixer until it’s fully combined – this takes a couple minutes. I place the fully combined cream cheese mixture on each of the rectangle pastries and then I like to air fry these for 8-10 minutes at 320, but they would still be amazing baked in the oven for a similar amount of time. I like to use the air fryer since I feel like it makes it slightly crispier and has more of a bite. Cook them until they’re golden brown and enjoy!

Tips

I highly recommend letting the mixture stir for the full amount of time. This lets everything come together nicely and have that perfect texture once it is done cooking! Also, I love these on their own, but I think topping with powdered sugar, some fruit (I think blueberries would be amazing), lemon zest, and maybe a drizzle of honey would be delicious as well! Another tip would be to brush the edges with an egg wash or some butter to get them even more of a perfect golden brown! What would you try topping these with?

This recipe is easy to whip up and so delicious, I may never have to order them again at Starbucks! Try it with your favorite coffee, and let me know what you think.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz Crescent Rolls
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese (Room Temperature)
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract

  1. In a mixing bowl, add cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat this mixture together well until smooth and creamy, about 4 minutes.
  2. Open your crescent rolls and lie the dough flat. Combine two triangular crescent rolls together to make a rectangle. Crimp the corners using your fingers so that when you add the filling, it does not escape.
  3. Add 2 tablespoons of the cream cheese filling to the middle of the crescent rolls – spreading to the outer edges.
  4. Air fry at 320° for 8-10 minutes. Serve with your favorite coffee drink and enjoy!

I’m thinking I may have to do a few versions of these – maybe a matcha flavor? Let me know what flavor you’d like to see next!
